The Hodson Bay Hotel is currently seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Wedding Co-ordinator. The successful Wedding Coordinator will possess the following: Flexible with high energy. Fluent level of spoken & written English. Proven experience of working as part of a team. Experience in the 4* market in Ireland and the local market. Ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate creativity. Basic IT skills. Ability to work without direct supervision. Capacity for flexibility, change and innovation. Strong telephone etiquette and sales skills. Customer communication skills of a very high standard. A relevant 3rd level qualification would be desirable but not essential. Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Computer literate with systems and database experience desirable. Roles & Responsibilities. Reporting to the General Manager and Sales Manager the Wedding Co-ordinator will be responsible for day to day functions of weddings and conferences. Ensure the highest level and delivery of 'first impression' and customer satisfaction by providing an exceptional & professional service to all potential clients at all times. Maximise Sales opportunities and actual bookings by way of excellent people skills, product knowledge and closing sales ability. Abide by the policies and procedures set by the Company at all times. Excellent analytical techniques to develop, control and target new customers as well as developing our existing customer base. Maximise Sales by promoting a positive image to potential guests on the telephone. Demonstrate strong communication & interpersonal skills to develop strong links with both internal and external clients. Develop a good local knowledge in order to answer any guest or potential clients queries. Deal with all incoming communications regarding meeting rooms. Ensure the highest level of Customer care at all times. Deal with all complaints in a courteous and efficient manner. Communicate effectively with all departments on a daily basis. Take every opportunity to maximise revenue through the use of yield management and occupancy controls. To compile quotations for business enquiries, dealing with the follow-up admin on calls, showing guests / potential corporate clients and facilities of the hotel. To be aware of any VIPs or important visitors to the hotel and inform management. To ensure a positive attitude towards colleagues and work as a team.
