A Manufacturing Engineer is required by CareerWise Recruitment for a leading company based in the North West. THE ROLE: * Develop and foster a culture of Lean and Continuous Improvement with the area team in conjunction with the Business Excellence Manager. Act as the department resource lead in the implementation and up-keep of continuous improvement teams driving such areas as 5S, CI Boards, SMED, OEE and LEAN. * Be the technical lead and sign off in the introduction/transfer of new products to production and introduction of new technology in conjunction with the Head of Operations and the technical department to meet production & quality performance criteria. Deliver all necessary training and supporting documentation to facilitate same. * Act as the technical lead to the production team to assist in the delivery of the key performance metrics for the relevant production area. * Maintain work areas, equipment and supplies in a manner which conforms to the requirements of the client's quality system, 5S, GMP and safety. * Ensure that manufacturing equipment is maintained and processes are documented in accordance with the clients quality system. * Project manages and leads cross functional teams with responsibility for the introduction and validation of new equipment /technology in the extrusion area. * Attain & demonstrate technical expertise in extrusion technologies and materials and communicate and train extrusion personnel in the knowledge. Understand current processes taking a hands-on approach to understanding how these can be applied to new opportunities. REQUIREMENTS. * Primary degree or have 5- 7 plus years manufacturing experience. *Medical device manufacturing experience is essential. * Must have a good working knowledge of production and quality system requirements in the health care industry. *A Green or Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma would be a distinct advantage.
