The Hodson BayGroup are recruiting for a Junior IT Systems Administrator. We are currently seeking a Junior IT Systems Administrator who is eager to learn new technologies and be part of a team. Our environment would be best served by someone who has a solid troubleshooting foundation, understands new technologies quickly, and is not afraid to get peer support in order to make sure the right solution is deployed the first time. We are looking for an individual who has foundation experience in technology and is eager to learn. You will be working closely with the IT Manager supporting and setting up workstations, telecommunications and server support. Providing desktop support to 150 users in 4 sites. Assist with supporting Windows servers across multiple locations. Manage the installation & configuration of end user and IT support system hardware. Maintenance of hardware, operating systems and applications in a Microsoft Windows desktop/network environment. Essential Requirements. Technical Skills. COMPTIA A+ certification or equivalent. COMPTIA Network+ certification or equivalent. Some computer science or related coursework/college. Basic experience with Microsoft Office. Basic hardware knowledge. Knowledge of windows based operating systems. Some knowledge in the areas of LAN/WAN. Must possess problem-solving skills and be able to handle the stress involved when complications arise. Bonus skills and attributes. Familiarity with VMware. Familiarity with server O/S. Familiarity with Antivirus. Familiarity with Backup Solutions. Familiarity with wireless networks. EMC/DELL storage is an advantage. Familiarity with Office 365 mail. Microsoft Certifications (MSCE etc) are an advantage. Pursuing Microsoft exams is an advantage and this will be supported. Non-Technical. Flexible approach to work and prepared to work outside normal working hours. Good fault finding and problem-solving using basic logic. Good Telephone manner. Good written skills. Hardworking, Conscientious, "Can Do" attitude. Work well within a small team, support colleagues to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be flexible to travel between hotels in Dublin, Galway and Athlone. Excellent English. Own car and full driving license is essential.
